Chris Clayton Davis
Chris is an architect with a particular interest in traditional building. As a keen practitioner of sensitive design, he firmly believes that new work should take its cues from the old, and that collaboration and attention to detail are the keys to the success of a project. He has a wealth of experience working on historic places, including the multi award-winning Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries at Westminster Abbey, and was the Project Architect of a meticulous eight year restoration of the Category-A listed Aldourie Castle and Estate on the banks of Loch Ness.
Chris is a commissioned officer in the Army’s Cultural Property Protection Unit, working to prevent damage to heritage sites in armed conflict, and is also a guest-lecturer at the Bruges Architecture Summer School, teaching medieval and crafts-based construction to the next generation. In his spare time, he enjoys watercolour and carpentry.
